Engines of Fury
The game combines intense PvPvE gameplay with deep RPG progression, challenging you to scavenge resources, craft powerful gear, and extract alive while facing both mutated horrors and rival players in high stakes raids where everything you carry is at risk.
Extraction and Risk Reward Mechanics
At its core, Engines of Fury delivers the tension of extraction shooters in a top down perspective. Each raid puts your equipped gear on the line as you venture into dangerous zones filled with valuable resources. Your objective is straightforward but challenging: infiltrate hostile locations, collect as much loot as possible, and reach an extraction point before death claims you and everything you're carrying.
The extraction mechanic creates constant tension between risk and reward. Staying longer in a raid means more potential resources but greater danger. Healing is scarce and deliberately limited, threats escalate as you progress deeper, and every decision carries weight. Death means losing not only what you've scavenged but also the gear you brought into the raid, making each expedition a calculated gamble that tests both skill and strategy.

Combat and PvPvE Environment
Engines of Fury features a dynamic PvPvE environment where you face both AI controlled mutated creatures and other players competing for the same resources. Combat follows familiar top down mechanics with success determined by player skill, reaction time, and equipment quality. You can equip and switch between two weapons to adapt to different threats, though switching takes a brief moment and is not instant.
The top down view creates limited visibility, with combat outside your screen indicated through minimap pings and visual sound cues. This forces tactical decision making about when to engage or avoid conflict. Your character can dodge incoming attacks with dodge distance and cooldown based on stats. Agile builds allow faster and longer dodges while heavier defense focused builds have reduced mobility, creating meaningful choices in how you approach encounters.

Talent System and Character Progression
Character customization happens through an extensive skill tree that unlocks abilities using Medusal Cells, a special resource found during raids. The tree spreads across three axes representing primary attributes: Strength for damage dealing and survivability, Agility for mobility and intricate attacks, and Intelligence for disabling enemies and elemental resistances.
Skills closer to the center provide weaker but universal bonuses, while skills further along any direction become more powerful but situational, often providing both a strength and a weakness. You can activate skills by connecting pathways from your starting position, creating unique builds that match your playstyle. Active abilities can be assigned to slots with specific keybinds, while passive abilities trigger automatically under certain conditions without cooldown or energy cost.

Hideout and Crafting Systems
Your hideout serves as your safe haven and progression hub between raids. Here you'll find specialized modules for different purposes. The Precision Assembler crafts starting weapons, equipment, ammo and fuel. The Biolab creates powerful equipment, consumables and Faction Lockboxes. The Mod Bench upgrades existing equipment into enhanced versions with improved stats. The Recycler breaks down junk items into raw materials needed for crafting.
Crafting transforms materials into items or higher tier components and takes time which can be reduced by upgrading modules. The system emphasizes resource management and strategic planning, as you need to balance what to craft, what to recycle, and what to save for future upgrades. Your hideout also requires power from the Generator, adding another layer of resource planning to maintain operations.

Dual Currency Economy
Engines of Fury uses a two tier asset system designed for economic stability and rewarding skilled players. ALLOY is the foundational soft currency earned by unlocking Faction Lockboxes, opening Council Caches, or looting defeated players. It serves as the primary reward for skillful gameplay and can be used for convenience items, cosmetics, tactical consumables, or exchanged for FURY.
FURY is the on chain tokenized asset reflecting in game progress and skill. Players acquire FURY through gameplay events or by exchanging ALLOY at the Trading Station. FURY unlocks utility NFTs, premium items like fuel and trader coins, and will eventually be required to convert weapons and armor into on chain digital assets. This dual system creates a sustainable loop where players use FURY to enhance their ability to earn ALLOY, which can then be converted back into FURY.

Utility NFTs and Progression Gates
NFTs in Engines of Fury function as utility assets that unlock specific features and progression paths. The Initiate's Pass grants Initiated Raider status, allowing access to Council Caches for 5 hours daily. These special lootboxes contain Faction Shards and small amounts of ALLOY, creating a time gated but rewarding progression path for dedicated players.
Faction Shards are collectible NFTs from four factions that can be combined to craft Faction Lockboxes. Once you collect six shards of the same faction, you craft them into a Lockbox at the Biolab. To open these Lockboxes, you need an Engine Core NFT inserted into your Engine module. Cores come in three tiers allowing you to unlock one, two, or three Lockboxes simultaneously over 20 hours, creating vertical progression in resource gathering efficiency.

Player Driven Ecosystem
The game supports multiple playstyles within its economic framework. Cautious PvE farmers focus on clearing maps safely and collecting resources methodically. Aggressive PvP hunters target other players to claim their ALLOY and Faction Shards. Savvy merchants engage in trading and swaps with other players to complete shard sets efficiently, bypassing the randomness of loot drops.
All gameplay actions contribute to weekly leaderboards where consistent performance in raiding, crafting, and surviving earns dominant positions. The economic loop encourages specialization and cooperation, as players can transfer or swap assets independently to achieve their goals, creating a dynamic marketplace driven entirely by player decisions and strategies.
